The center is open Monday through Fridays, 1000-1600. For more information on the Bates Center please visit their web site at   https://www.nursing.upenn.edu/history/about-us/ Visitors must make an appointment ahead of a visit to access the Archives by emailing Nhistory@nursing.upenn.edu Walk-in researchers cannot be accommodated. All visitors must have a government issued identification card such as a passport or driver’s license and must abide by the rules governing the Bates Center holdings. Photocopying archive material (see https://www.nursing.upenn.edu/history/center-services/purchasing-digital-images-copies) must be done by the Bates Center staff and must be pre-paid to the University. Some holdings not yet catalogued may not be available at your visit Currently the collection includes all books published by Betty Neuman, selected text books where Neuman is referenced, unpublished papers and other documents. In addition, materials pertaining to the formation of the Neuman Systems Model Trustee Group, symposia proceedings, minutes of  Trustee meetings and other documents related to the Trustees group are located in the Bates Center.
